From Hydrogen Projects to Hydrogen Corridors: Hydrogen Ukraine at EASTGATEH2V & H2SK Forum 2026

From project development to shaping the future hydrogen market.

This week, Hydrogen Ukraine joined partners of the EASTGATEH2V project in Košice, Slovakia, for a consortium meeting dedicated to advancing one of the most ambitious cross-border hydrogen valley initiatives connecting Ukraine and the European Union. Together with project partners, we discussed the next stages of implementation, infrastructure planning, and the long-term vision for integrating Ukrainian renewable hydrogen into the European market.

The meeting was followed by H2SK Forum 2026, where Hydrogen Ukraine Founder Dr. Oleksandr Riepkin participated in the panel discussion “Development of Hydrogen Pipelines in the EU” alongside representatives of leading European gas infrastructure companies and hydrogen stakeholders. The discussion focused on the practical challenges of building future hydrogen transport networks, developing cross-border corridors, ensuring interoperability, and creating the market conditions needed to unlock investment.

For Hydrogen Ukraine, these discussions are directly linked to the projects we are developing today.

Large-scale renewable hydrogen production can only reach its full potential when connected to reliable transport infrastructure, storage solutions, industrial consumers, and international markets. This is why initiatives such as EASTGATEH2V are so important — they help turn hydrogen projects from isolated developments into elements of a broader European energy ecosystem.

As a partner of EASTGATEH2V, Hydrogen Ukraine is contributing to the development of a future cross-border hydrogen corridor that could connect Ukrainian production capacities with Central European demand centres. Such connections will be essential for attracting investment, creating export opportunities, strengthening energy resilience, and supporting Ukraine’s long-term economic recovery.

The future hydrogen economy will not be built by individual projects alone. It will be built through infrastructure, partnerships, and cross-border cooperation. And that future is already being developed today.
