Hydrogen Ukraine at CEE Hydrogen Summit 2025
Hydrogen Ukraine CEO Iaroslav Kryl shared Ukraine’s progress in hydrogen development at the 8th Edition CEE Hydrogen Summit 2025. His presentation, “Development of Hydrogen Projects in Ukraine: Projects in Odesa and Zakarpattia,” highlighted how Ukraine is integrating green hydrogen production with renewable energy sources and positioning itself as a key player in Europe’s hydrogen economy.
With projects in Odesa and Zakarpattia gaining momentum, Ukraine is not only ramping up domestic hydrogen production but also strengthening its role in cross-border hydrogen transmission. The country’s hydrogen valleys are strategically aligning with the Central European Hydrogen Corridor, paving the way for large-scale green hydrogen exports to the EU. Additionally, Ukraine’s unique geological advantages offer significant potential for underground hydrogen storage in salt caverns—an essential step toward ensuring energy security and grid stability.
As Europe moves towards a decarbonized future, Ukraine is proving that it has the resources, infrastructure, and ambition to become a major hydrogen hub. The discussion at today’s summit reinforced the importance of international cooperation in accelerating the transition to clean energy.
