Hydrogen Ukraine completes Techno-Economic Study for Reni–Galați hydrogen pipeline

As part of the development of our electrolysis plant in the Odesa region, we have successfully completed the Techno-Economic Study (TES) for a future hydrogen transmission pipeline between Reni (Ukraine) and Galați (Romania).

The study evaluated three potential routes for cross-border connection:

  • Reni – Galați (via Moldova)
  • Reni – Galați (via the Danube River)
  • Reni – Orlivka Compressor Station

This analysis marks a significant step toward integrating Ukraine’s southern hydrogen production hubs into the European hydrogen network and strengthening regional energy cooperation.

The next challenge on our roadmap is to explore the potential of existing infrastructure for future hydrogen transport, as the current TES focused solely on a new dedicated pipeline.

Step by step, we’re moving closer to connecting Ukrainian green hydrogen with European markets.

Project funding was awarded through the InnovateUkraine, funded by UK International Development and hosted by British Embassy Kyiv.
