Hydrogen Ukraine Secures EBRD and EU Support for Blockchain-Based Hydrogen Certification System

Hydrogen Ukraine is pleased to announce the signing of a Grant Agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) under the FINTECC EU4Climate window – Climate Innovation Vouchers, funded by the European Union through the European Neighbourhood Instrument.

The grant will support the development of Hydrogen Ukraine’s digital backbone for climate-tech innovation, including:
• an automated data collection system for projects,
• a digital certification and registry system built entirely on blockchain technology,
• an information-analytical dashboard, and
• research into international digital certification standards.

This integrated digital framework is not only tailored for Ukraine’s hydrogen ecosystem – it is a unique, next-generation solution with the potential to become a new reference model for digital certification. By combining decentralised data integrity, automation and compliance-by-design architecture, our system can set new standards for cross-border hydrogen trade.

These will help us ensure robust monitoring, reporting and verification, and align Ukraine’s emerging hydrogen ecosystem with European and global requirements.

We are grateful to EBRD, the FINTECC programme and the European Union for their support, and to our Ukrainian technology partners for joining us in building transparent, data-driven solutions for a low-carbon future.
