InnovateUkraine Round II: New Momentum for Ukraine’s Energy Transition

On December 4, the official launch of the second round of the InnovateUkraine program took place in Kyiv, where the Hydrogen Ukraine team joined professional discussions on the future of energy innovation in Ukraine.

During the first round of the program (2024–2026), Innovate Ukraine allocated £16 million to support 13 projects in the field of energy innovation. Among the winners was our hydrogen plant project in the Odesa region — one of the key elements of Ukraine’s future hydrogen infrastructure. Thanks to this support, we are now nearing completion of a comprehensive feasibility study, which will serve as the foundation for the project’s further implementation.

In March 2025, an additional £17 million was announced for the second round of InnovateUkraine, which will run from 2026 to 2028. This stage opens new opportunities for scaling innovations and supporting teams working on the recovery and transformation of Ukraine’s energy system.

Hydrogen Ukraine congratulates the new winners of the second round and expresses sincere gratitude to the InnovateUkraine team, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), and the British Embassy in Ukraine for their continued support and trust. It is through such partnerships that Ukrainian projects gain the opportunity to move forward — helping integrate the country into the European energy space and accelerate its transition to a green economy.
