Turning Hydrogen Potential into Real Projects

Hydrogen Ukraine was pleased to take part in the Information event for German stakeholders on the development of the green hydrogen sector in Ukraine, organised by H2-diplo.

The event provided a focused exchange on how Ukraine’s hydrogen sector is evolving under current conditions — and what practical steps are needed to move from concept to implementation.

A key element of the discussion was the growing shift towards realistic deployment pathways, including pilot projects, industrial applications, and the development of integrated value chains.

We are also glad to see that two Hydrogen Ukraine projects were highlighted as part of the current project landscape:

  • hydrogen development initiatives in the Odesa region, including integrated energy and export-oriented concepts
  • the Zakarpattia project, exploring scalable hydrogen production with strong cross-border infrastructure potential

These projects reflect the broader direction of the sector — combining local use cases with future export opportunities.

Across the discussions, several priorities clearly emerged:

  • the need to unlock bankable demand and offtake structures
  • advancing feasible regulatory and investment frameworks
  • focusing on projects that can be implemented under current conditions

We remain committed to advancing practical hydrogen solutions together with our partners.
